Cinque Terre
are known and appreciated all over the world and since some years have become
National Park, Protected Marine Area and UNESCO World Heritage. A lot of
tourists of every nationality visit Cinque Terre searching particular
landscapes, art, history, nature and typical products, but the best attraction
is represented by the famous walking trails that for centuries have been
connected the ancient towns of Monterosso Vernazza Corniglia Manarola
Riomaggiore and the surrounding territories from Portovenere to
Deiva Marina and Sestri Levante.
A
journey to the Cinque Terre
is a good occasion to visit the Riviera di Levante and all the territory of
Genoa, Portofino, Cinque Terre, the Poets’ Gulf, Vara and Magra Valleys.
Genoa,
city of art, rich in monuments, museums and works of art is one of the most
important harbours of the Mediterranean; Portofino, typical sea town,
nowadays a luxury destination for luxury guests, preserves the ancient charm and
it is the starting point for several excursions to San Fruttuoso,
Camogli and to Monte di Portofino. The Riviera between Sestri
Levante, Moneglia, Deiva Marina, Bonassola and Levanto is
particularly proper for a bathing stay or as starting point for the excursions,
while the Vara Valley functions as the lungs of the area, rich in
cultural and historical opportunities and renowned for its biological typical
products. The Poets’ Gulf with Lerici, Portovenere and La Spezia is a
wonderful natural inlet, with very good equipped marinas and Lunigiana,
situated at the borders between Tuscany and Liguria, is famous for its Stele
statues, millenary menhir whose origins are still mysterious: there is
someone who talks about alien cultures.
The journey to the Cinque Terre let you discover a territory where nature and
the hard work of men have been moulding the coast, creating dry walls, small
streets, staircases, small harbours, towns of multi-coloured houses, sanctuaries
and a unique environment. Typical wines like the Cinque Terre and the
Sciacchetrŕ, together with typical products and a very good cuisine, are further
reasons to organize a journey to Cinque Terre and enjoy a wonderful holiday.
